Lake Architectural has worked closely with Onondaga Community College to design and construct their new monumental signs and LED reader boards for both campus entrances. This project, at $600,000, has once again allowed Lake Architectural to showcase their design capabilities, sustainable design techniques, and rendering skills.
The main sign at the RT 175 entrance is a fluid, sculptural piece constructed of solid black granite, and etched with the College’s new logo and tag line EXPLORE. DISCOVER. TRANSFORM. The secondary signs at this entrance integrate curved LED reader boards encased in the granite. To finish the gateway effect of these pieces, the roadway between them are a different material, creating an audible experience for those entering the campus. The secondary entrance to the campus from RT 173 has similar pieces.
Lake Architectural is leading the design team, performing cost analysis, schematic design, design development, and producing and coordinating the construction documents.
